Hazard Identification

The identification of potential hazards is the cornerstone of safety. You can only protect against events that are properly identified and characterized. SystemSafety, Inc. helps in the process of developing comprehensive hazard assessments. However we will not be able to provide "off-the-shelf" hazard analysis since each system is unique and needs to be individually assessed.

We help to facilitate the development of hazard analyses using our knowledge of identification and characterization techniques together with your specific domain knowledge and additional external resources. Third party involvement during the hazard identification process helps to avoid the omission of hazards due to specific biases and mindsets of development teams ("we always did it that way and nothing has happened" syndrome). Additionally it adds credibility and objectivity to the process.

Risk Assessment

Attributing hazards with risk is a subjective and sometimes arbitrary activity. SystemSafety, Inc.  helps in aligning the risk levels determined with current industry standards and regulatory requirements. The weighing of risks, specifically before implementation, is a challenging task for every development team. We provide you with the tools and training to make this process easy, comprehensive and effective in addition to convincing your product team in the necessity and usefulness of this process.

For more information see "Hazard Analysis".
