Reliability

Reliability is closely linked to safety. If a mitigating function is not reliable, the system will not be safe at all times. Additionally the limited reliability of system components can be the cause of hazards. System Safety,Inc. evaluates a system in terms of overall potential to generate hazards based on limited component reliability and assesses the reliability of safety functions. Commonly recognized methods like FMEA, reliability calculations, public and proprietary failure databases and system modeling are used to predict system safety and reliability.
